Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups, or SIGs, are small groups of OCC members who share a common photography interest and want to explore it in more depth.
Each group is member-led. Members choose the topic, set the schedule, decide how the group will meet, and shape what they want to learn or create together.
Member-Led
SIGs are proposed and organized by club members with a shared interest.
Flexible
Each group sets its own schedule, goals, format, and duration.
Focused Learning
Members can explore a subject more deeply through discussion, practice, and shared projects.
Examples of SIGs
Special Interest Groups change from year to year based on member interest, but here are some examples of the types of groups you may find at OCC.
Black & White Photography
Explore tone, contrast, and storytelling without colour.
Image Evaluation
Review and critique images to improve composition and impact.
Macro Photography
Capture the small details and hidden worlds up close.
Creative & Experimental
Try new techniques, editing styles, and creative approaches.
SIG offerings vary each season based on member interest.
How to Join a SIG
Special Interest Groups are available to Oshawa Camera Club members. When groups are active, members can sign up, contact the group leader, or watch for club announcements.
Because SIGs are member-led, topics and schedules may change from season to season.
Interested in Joining a Group?
SIGs are one of the many ways OCC members learn from each other, share ideas, and explore photography beyond regular meetings.
