Prize List for all 3 Categories:
- First Place: $100 Dollars + 1-1/2 year Membership to the Oshawa Camera Club, Winners Certificate, Print of their winning entry
- Second Place: $50 Dollars + 1-1/2 year Membership to the Oshawa Camera Club, Winners Certificate, Print of their winning entry
- Third Place: $25 Dollars + 1-1/2 year Membership to the Oshawa Camera Club, Winners Certificate, Print of their winning entry
FAQ’s
- Q – Is the contest free?
- A – Yes. There is no cost to you to enter this photo contest.

- Q – What type of file should I submit?
- A – Digital file must be a JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) format and no larger than 4 megabytes. each.

- Q – How many photos can I submit?
- A – up to a maximum of 3 in each of the 3 categories for a total of 9 photos

- Q – When can I submit my photos?
- A – At any point in time as long as the photo contest is still live (March – November?). Once you submit, you cannot change your submission. All entries must be submitted at the same time.

- Q – How many times can I enter?
- A – You can only enter once. All Entries must be submitted at the same time.

- Q – How do I know if my photo was submitted correctly?
- A – You will receive a confirmation email of your submission.

- Q – How do you track entries
- A – Submissions are tracked by email address and phone number. Only one set of entries per person. Total of 9 entries.

- Q – How will I know if I won?
- A – When you submit your photo, you will have to enter contact info. The finalists will be notified prior to the Gala event. At the Gala event, the winners will be announced. Finalists will be asked for high resolution files for printing purposes.

- Q – When I submit my photos, I am giving permission to the City of Oshawa to use them. What does that mean?
- A – The maker of the photo (You) retains all ownership and copyrights of the photo. When you submit your photo, you are giving The City of Oshawa permission to use your photo for future advertising and promotional purposes. Your photo will also be added to the City’s historical archive of photos of Oshawa. The Oshawa Camera Club will post winning photos on their website for a period of time after the Gala.

- Q – What if I enter my photos in the wrong category?
- A – Your photo will not be disqualified but the Oshawa Camera Club reserves the right to move it to the most appropriate category as set out above as long as it still fits within the three-photo limit per category.

- Q – How do I Name/Title my photo?
- A – Look at what your photo is about, what story are you trying to tell through the photo. Think of something that relates to that and helps the judges and public understand more about what you are trying to convey through your photo (5 words or less). Examples – 1908 Historical building name,

- Q – Can anyone participate?
- A – People of all ages are allowed to participate. We ask that you be an amateur photographer making no more than 50% of your income from photography. You don’t have to live in Oshawa to participate.

- Q – What type of editing is allowed?
- A – Minor changes to exposure, colour correction, resizing, lightening/darkening parts.

- Q – Does it have to be in colour?
- A – No it can also be a black and white photo.
